A pressed flower is a small act of attention, and it works best when the press is already in your pocket. This one is a slim cherry block with a matching top plate and two brass thumb screws, sized to slip into a jacket pocket or a bag and hold one to three small blooms or a few clovers. The engraved design sits into the grain rather than on top of it, and the whole press is finished in oil, which deepens the cherry over time and takes the scuffs of being carried around. Each one is made by hand from hardwood selected in Central Michigan, so the grain and color vary from press to press, and no two darken quite the same way.
