A facsimile of the eighth Peanuts collection, published in 1959 by Clarke, Irwin and Company of Toronto and reproduced as it originally appeared. The strips run from 1955 to 1959, daily and Sunday both, from the years when Schulz was still working out who everyone was. Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, and Pig-Pen are all here, along with Violet, Patty, and Shermy, who were central then and faded later. Worth having for the reproduction as much as the strips, since a facsimile keeps the typesetting, the paper proportions, and the design decisions of the period intact.
