When a flood sweeps through Moominvalley, the Moomin family takes shelter in a peculiar floating house. There are curtains where a wall ought to be, rows of little lights, and rather more room for an audience than anyone needs. Their new home is a theater, though it takes them a while to work that out. First published in 1954, Tove Jansson’s midsummer adventure follows missing friends, misunderstandings, and an unlikely production that somehow makes it to the stage. This Drawn & Quarterly edition includes painted covers, a fold-out map, and a ribbon to keep your place between acts.
