Nasrettin Hoca rides around Turkey on a small grey donkey in a turban and a coat made of patches on patches, helping whoever needs it. Everyone likes him. Then he turns up at a friend's banquet and nobody speaks to him, and he works out that it is the coat they are ignoring. So he goes home, puts on a new one, comes back, and is welcomed warmly. What he does next is the good part: rather than eat the food set in front of him, he starts feeding it to his coat.
