Father Christmas arrives in his softest winter blues. Designed by Ashley Ashe, a Waldorf teacher and felt artist from upstate New York, this handmade Santa Waldorf doll wears a pale blue velvet robe trimmed down the front with a woven floral ribbon in blue, pink, and moss green, which opens onto a snowy white felt panel. His long stocking cap ends in a soft felt pom-pom, a wispy cream wool beard frames his delicate, hand-drawn face, and he carries a little bottle-brush tree on a wooden stand. Because each doll is made entirely by hand, a little fraying along the trim and seams is natural and part of his character. He makes a lovely companion for the seasonal table, for Advent storytelling, or for gentle play with children ages 6 and up.
