A month for every turn of the page, January through December, each one a scene from the kind of year Tasha Tudor actually lived: sap buckets in March, a birthday in May, apples in October, candles in December. She wrote it in verse, short enough to read in a sitting and good enough to come back to twelve times a year, once as each month arrives. The watercolors are her own, soft and unhurried, full of small children and animals and the particular light of a New England season. A good book for a family that likes marking the year as it goes.
