The Flying Squirrel is a rodent that is a bit bigger compared to the common squirrel. Although it is called as such, it cannot actually fly. Instead, flying squirrels glide for an extended period of time. One of the most distinct characteristics of this animal is its furry and stretchy membrane that can be found in between its front and hind legs. When they glide, they just spread out its legs and arms to be able to use this stretchy membrane like a parachute. The tail of the flying squirrel is flattened, and its eyes are big.
